There's a very good reason I have my lab work done on Dec 30 every year: I have 24 hours to mull the results before NYE and resolution time. Well, my results came back and it's not good. My fasting blood sugar crept up 2 points and my cholesterol went up a couple of points too. My health plan put all lab work in emails a couple of years ago and I can track changes and chart them. I looked at a 3 year trend and have to make even more drastic changes.
Here are my resolutions for 2012:
1. Alcohol - 1 glass of wine when with friends, no more than once a week and NO alcohol at my home.
2. At least three dinners of fish per week.
3. To get up to walking 3 miles a day or biking the same
4. To drop 50 lbs. I'm whispering that one. If I take care of the other three, this ought to follow.
There it is, in writing, on the Internet. Good thing you cannot hear me screaming.
I cannot truly hear your screaming but I really do feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER...do not overlook the fact that you HAVE lost weight the past 3 months. Who knows what those counts might have been midsummer? Perhaps they were drastically higher! Good thing you started Eating Naked in October. You've set the tone for 2012; you've set your certainly attainable goals.
What can I do to help you attain those goals from 2000 miles away? Probably not so much.
BUT yesterday I paid for a year membership at the Greenwood community Center, complete with treadmills and steppers, etc. BF Scott will be signing up on January 15, one day after he turns 55. Being 55 gets him a membership fee of only $25 vs my 50. He'd like to lose more than you - and I'd like to lose 30. That's alot of chub the three of us will be endeavoring to lose!
I have to tell you - I got up late this morning and what was Scott eating? OATMEAL! with prunes and dried cranberries! :) AND he baked a pan of chopped up sweet and white potatoes the other day to go along with a pork roast...Your Eating Naked plan has happily invaded this house hold! Hugs and let's both endeavor to be svelte and healthier on the next NYE!
You think you can't help from so far away?? You've helped already. So, between us we want to drop 130 or more. Who else can we get in on this??? Spread the love. I don't have a scale, but I know what size I will wear when I reach the goal.
ReplyDeleteI love that Scott was roasting potatoes. I guess everyday will start with oatmeal from now on. Thank goodness I love it. I'm going to get some ground flax seed to sprinkle on it. It's supposed to help lower cholesterol. More veggies! I have to find a source for wild salmon. Think of the recipes we can exchange now!
Hugs and Happy New Year!
